I have a damaged windshield, do I need to contact ICBC?
In most cases we can contact ICBC on your behalf to generate the insurance claim.
Will ICBC cover the cost of my windshield replacement?
Provided you have adequate comprehensive coverage, the entire cost of your windshield will be covered by ICBC. You will only pay the applicable comprehensive glass coverage deductible. For example, if your comprehensive deductible is $300, your glass coverage deductible is only $200!
Will replacing my windshield affect my insurance rate?
No, as auto glass replacement or repair is considered a comprehensive claim, not an accident or collision.
Do I need to get more than one estimate for auto glass repair or replacement?
No, all auto glass repair and replacement falls under an industry standard pricing structure.
Is it worth it to repair a rock chip?
Yes! If the chip falls within the criteria for repair, fixing the chip will prolong the life of your windshield and maintain the safety and integrity of the glass. Plus, with certain comprehensive insurance coverage, chip repairs are often done for free.
Can cracked windshields be repaired?
Unfortunately, no. Only chipped glass less than the size of a loonie that shows no signs of spreading or will affect the view of the driver can be repaired. Chips should be repaired as soon as possible, before they are contaminated with dirt and grime or have the chance to spread or crack.
How long does it take to repair or replace a windshield?
Windshield repairs generally take less than a half hour. Windshield replacement will take approximately four hours to allow for the adhesives used to properly cure. Vehicles equipped with ADAS sensors may require additional time for calibration.
Why do you need detailed vehicle information?
As different models of the same vehicle often have different windshields and features, by providing us with the complete year, make, model and specific features we can ensure that the right windshield type is ordered for installation.
Can I drive my vehicle immediately after the windshield is replaced or repaired?
As long as your vehicle has been at our facility for the required amount of curing time, you may drive your vehicle normally.
Will windshield repairs be visible?
Windshield repairs are designed to return the glass to being structurally safe, however depending on the initial chip or damage faint marks may be visible.
How do you ensure the quality of windshield repairs or replacement?
We use only the highest quality, industry standard materials for windshield repairs. Replacement windshields are OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or OEE (original equipment equivalent) automotive glass that meets or exceeds government, industry and safety standards.
